It was...unexpected things? Apparently Kishi is aware that Obito hating Kakashi just because he didn't save Rin wasn't gonna cut it.

I've heard a lot of theorizing that Kakashi, Rin, or both may actually be Zetsu clones in that scene, and that Madara set the whole thing up to "turn" Obito. What do you think?

Someone on a forum I frequent also pointed out that if that really is Actual Kakashi killing Actual Rin, it's kind of hypocritical for Kakashi to have gotten all mad at Sasuke for trying to kill Sakura and Naruto.

Oh, that would suck if this was a Kikyo-and-Inu-Yasha type thing and turned out to be a big trick. I'm reserving judgement on characters, plot, everything else until we actually get a proper explanation. I want to know what happened. Maybe it's like in Rurouni Kenshin where he killed his wife while temporarily blinded.
