I've been debating if I should go see the 3D version on the big screen too, but decided against it for two reasons:
a) I don't like going alone to places like the cinema
b) I too cry a lot when I watch that movie. In fact, it's sort of a follow-up reason to #1: I couldn't possibly expect someone to come along and then be embarrassed by their sobbing companion, aka me ^^;
Seriously, I start crying when Rose does the whole "Jack, I'm flying" thing, and I don't stop until the credits are over! Mind you, changing the DVD becomes a bit of a tricky job because I'm so caught up in crying that I have to be careful to not drop the disc or let any tears fall onto it... ;)
Did you also have a headache after your sobbing subsided? Mine is always massive xD
OMG, that would be so awesome! I'd prepare two boxes of tissues, just in case ;) At least your friends are - at least, in terms of Titanic (as far as I know) - like you... I have no idea about my friends' reactions to that movie. Though I would be astounded if anyone of them would cry as much as I do ^^;
I can see it happening because of the 3D glasses - I've experienced the same in some of the few movies I've seen in 3D. But it might very well also be because of the crying; Mom told me that your head tends to ache if you cry a lot, and I've noticed that on many occasions :)
Dunno about sobbing hysterically - (they are manly tears, seriously) - I always tear up a bit at the end. And that song - it gets me man, all the time.
I kind of wanted to go see it, I don't think I'll have the time though. : P

I've seen it about every year since I was six or so, and somehow I can never really prepare myself for it. >.

*hug*
