YES. YES. YES. This chapter was indeed glorious, one of the best in quite a while :D
Oh yes, the massacre... and with every new chapter, my head-canon gets screwed a little more, which is why I might not continue PIE after all. I mean, who'd read a no-longer-on-hiatus story that is strays so far away from canon? :/ Ah well, at least Naruto isn't my only fandom ;)
I was also impressed to see how Itachi was handling the actual massacre, specifically where he slaughters his parents. Remember when we used to think he was the guy with a face that showed no emotions? (I do.) And now we've seen other sides of him, quite emotional ones too... I love it, despite the tragedies in which they emerged :')
The last panel did two things to me: break my heart (nuuuuuuu we're gonna lose Itachi again T___T) and literally squeal (fangirl-mode). For real, for two minutes or so, I just sat there, squeaking and squealing as I drank in the image and words. Oh, Sasuke... WHAT he must be feeling now! This comes rather close to Mutsumix' comic of chapter 589 - I wanna bet this newest chapter will lead to a new comic from her ♥
Great chapter, I wonder about its impact for what still lies ahead of us :)
