And Mangareader is having issues apparently (big shocker there), so...catch me up on the last 5 Naruto chapters or so? Has anything important or squee-worthy happened? Has anything happened? xD

Well, Kabuto apparently has Sage Mode. Sasuke and Itachi were fighting him for a little while, and Itachi revealed that he has access to a jutsu called Izanami, which "decides destiny." We still haven't seen what it does, though, since the manga then went into a flashback about Kabuto's past, which reveals that Orochimaru is a former ANBU Root member.

Well, we've been given some insight to Kabuto's past... And yeah, it's not exactly a happy childhood, as you might imagine, but I'm still not siding with him ;)

Oh yeah, and because of something Kabuto said, Sasuke flashed back to a time when he was actually in Konoha after Itachi had died! O_O And he nearly lost it when he overheard some guys saying it was good riddance that Itachi had died... D'awwww, brotherly love! ♥

Itachi has apparently prepared some kind of special jutsu that will decide Kabuto's destiny or something... he says it's not Izanagi, but Izanami. I have no idea what this is all about, though, so I can't help you out on that ^^;

As for the most recent chapter: Kabuto went with Danzo to spare his adopted mother (from an orphanage, but she once was a great ninja) from having to bear the burden of deciding which child to give to Root. Later, on a mission, Kabuto narrowly escaped an assassination - by his adopted mother, who unfortunately did not seem to know who he was anymore. The chapter ended with him wondering who he himself was, and then Orochimaru emerged from the water Kabuto was looking into, proclaiming: "You became quite a nice shinobi. I do remember about you, Kabuto."
