Isn't what happened with Naruto kinda what happens in real life too sometimes, though? You'd think to yourself "God, I don't want anyone to experience what I've been through", but then I guess it's something about being a parent that makes you "go against your word" anyway, though? Because you care about the kid, don't want them to turn out like you, and yet somehow you can't stop (social pressure/expectations? job responsibilities?)... I've always pictured that to be some kind of bitterly ironic cycle.

IDEK I'll shut up now because I have no comprehension of the whole parental responsibility thing, and I'll happily stay out of that whole thing. But those were just my two cents on the issue based on what I've gathered from articles etc. I read somewhere along the road of life... ^^;
